Folks: I have finally assembled most of the gear for setting up my desired music server system based around my SBT:
--a USB hard drive for holding my music files (the process of ripping all of my CDs is ongoing; I'll purchase a backup HD soon); --a fit-PC3 with Windows 7 Pro, with LMS installed. However, I'm having problems getting this configured properly. Windows sees the library drive, and my SBT (connected to the PC via Ethernet cable) sees the computer, but none of my hard drive's music files (which are all in the root directory) are seen by the SBT. When I first got my SBT, I made a "proof of concept" setup: installed LMS to a laptop, ripped some music files to a laptop's internal hard drive (they showed up in it's "My Music" folder, as I recall), had LMS scan that drive...files showed up on my SBT and played with no problem. I'm probably missing something obvious here (maybe more than one); what is it? Assuming that there are posts already on this forum that address this type of setup, would someone please point me to them? (JohnSwenson, perhaps?)
