The vast majority of AVR's digitise all incoming analog signal anyway ,so there is only digital input for quality content analog is for legacy stuff like your vcr . And Ive heard of no AVR with analog bass or speaker management in this decade (a prologic receiver from the late 80's maybe ) ? so if your using your sub for music ,use digitla on any AVR . An of course dsp modes and EQ yep digital . The very few AVR's that has true analog bypass limits it to 2ch stereo . And actually I think this function is going extinct anyway in new products it was more of a fad in late 90's early 00's
