I dont know your DVD player but a test could be to burn a DVDV disc with a stereo 24/96 PCM track (this is possible but it's literally been almost a decade since i tried that , so i have no recipe at hand , and the way i did it included licenced software) . Or if you have an DVD audio disc with a DVDV layer that contains a 24/96 stereo PCM track .
