I was only playing a regular CD in the DVD player (Panasonic DMP-BD55).
Your are mostly likely right about SPDIF being limited to 48kHz because
the manual says that some formats are only available via HDMI. I will
downsample some of the flacs and see if they will play. I suspect they
will since other 48kHz files played. It's odd because the literature
implies that the B&K decodes 96kHz.
