May be my questions are not clearly stated. I am running ST with EDO and expect to be able to play up to 192kHz material. The 192 kHz tracks I am playing are playing OK , BUT the Now playing info is informing that the correspinding high VBR (something like 5000 kbps) is converted to 705 kbps FLAC
My concern is not so much about the actual VBR numbers. My concern is that the system is noting the stream is converted to a low bandwith bitrate of 705 kbps When running wireless the rebuffering suggests to me the actual bitrate playing these 192 kHz files is high, because meterial with this low bitrate (705 kbps) almost never rebuffers. The conversion indication might not be accurate and this might stem from misalligned versions of SBS server vs Touch. I run old versions as reported. I have set up a old firmware version in the Touch as the latest will not combine with my SBS version. The OP reacted in the link; http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...Rez-flac-files in the same way I am here. This is not about the actual reported VBR numbers, which are always a approximation. I do find the 705 kbps a bit atypical, but that is all. I want to ascertain the system is delivering the original files' Hires streams and not any conversion of the original data. I can possibly by connecting a DAC that identifies the streams frequency, but I have none at hand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ScHenk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34067 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102794 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
