Hi rgro, nice to hear from you! Thanks for the information. Direct connection to the VBA is appealing to me in theory, but I hesitate to go that route in practice now that we've moved into a NOS 1906 house where my VBA is on the top floor and the stereo is on the first floor. Running a long USB cable through 1906 walls is a thought that I'm not sure I want to contemplate. OTOH, the inability of the Benchmark to lock onto a changed resolution automatically is driving me crazy. Too bad, because I like the DAC very much, especially now that I've inserted an Uptone REGEN in the chain, with astonishing results for SQ. Best regards, Guido F.
