imo the prublem with usb powered drives is thier power usage sometimes
they overload a perfectly on spec usb port .

That problem does not exist with self powered drives .

I would just buy any . But ive would imediatly unistall all kinds of
bundled software and spam and extra parttions and reformat the whole
thing to one single partition .

So sometimes a no name product can be better . many brand name drives
and usb sticks has all kinds of crap ware that in some cases are hard to
truly get rid off .
