I have a setup similar to a NAS a HP microserver running a Linux server OS ( no gui or desktop ) administration remetoly via web browser and comand Shell , just like a NAS .
If i did this today an intel NUC would be a thing to consider . The thing is to not cheap out on CPU and memory if you want a smooth experience with plugins and transcoding applikations and general performance . And the thing don't need to run 24/7 there is WOL ( wake on LAN ) so that you can nudge it out of sleep or boot it remotely . -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
