You are conecting to an external DAC so upgrading the streamer will never do much for you except supporting new formats and new functionality thus being more flexible etc . Streaming content that both the SBT and a new and improved streamer supports like 16/44.1 CD don't expect any diffrence . For newer formats , it can be something like MQA or DSD and fully use some native cababilty that a SBT simply dont have , but even then don't expect miracles . Human hearing is still the same and even stuff built a decade ago performs better than human hearing can discriminate. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
