I forgot to ask: do we still target 0.11 for this feature, or
should we merge now?
I'd rather say now, because if the branch is ready, it will be
only extra pain
to delay the merge further...
Speaking about 0.10, I'd rather put in what's already finished
(unicode)
or nearly finished (workflow) than post-pone it because some
planned
features are not finished (spam-filter).
The MySQL patch is looking pretty good, even though IIUC it only
supports MySQL >= 4.1.
Sure, but what remains to be merged? I thought the patch has been
merged already.
Support for MySQL 4.0 can still be done later (0.11).
The MySQL connector hasn't been merged yet. And yes, support 4.0 can
be delayed (personally, I couldn't care less about 4.0 ;-) )
What's the state in the versioncontrol area?
Well, there are currently two changesets that could be merged,
r2992 and r3009: http://projects.edgewall.com/trac/log/sandbox/vc-
refactoring?
action=stop_on_copy&rev=3009&stop_rev=2992&mode=stop_on_copy
This adds support for #1830 and introduces the NoSuchChangeset and
NoSuchNode
exceptions. The changes have been reported to work and even if
there are still
possible corner cases, the #1830 situation is certainly better
supported than before :)
As for the rest, like support for tags and branches and rework of
the cache,
I'd say it can be done after 0.10 (the tags and branches quickjump
support
could certainly still fit in the 0.10 timeframe).
Okay.
I might be wrong about the spam-filter branch status, but last time
I asked about it, I got no reply...
I'd really like to at least get the hooks in to enable an external
spam-filter plugin.
Right, I'd like to work on this myself, but I wanted at least to
check with mgood
about the current status first.
Matt's branch puts the spam filtering in Trac itself (although it is
of course extensible). What I would like to see for 0.10 would be
change interceptor extension points for tickets and wiki pages. And
then move the spam filtering itself out into a plugin.
I think a summary page for documenting the purpose and the activity
on branches
is really helpful. Something like what I did for TracDiff,
InterTrac, etc.
and what Alec is doing for the WorkFlow.
Sure. That's the ideal case. Unfortunately, sometimes the lack of
time gets in the way.
Also, I heard that the webadmin will be part of 0.10...
Can someone confirm?
No, it's on the roadmap for 0.11.
That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure.
Still, what's your take on merging the unicode branch now?
+1
+1 also for changing the encoding of our python files to utf-8.
Cheers,
Chris
