I just want to start off by saying that I received my OT2m on Friday and I've been very happy with the unit. I have the unit working out of the box with a Garmin 35pc GPS. No problem and no issues with that at all!
I purchased a used Nuvi 350 a few months back with the plan on hooking it up with the OT2m. Tonight - I tried with massive failure. I'm using the following: OT2m with Firmware build 54680 Nuvi 350 with build 6.00 FMI Cable 010-10813-00 Wiring is setup for Com2: Yellow - 8 White - 7 Black - 5 I've tried to follow the steps in the Nuvi350 guide put together by EI5GTB. No good. I am wondering where and how I am screwing up. I've set both profiles in the software to go Garmin on Com 2. IF I remove power, I get an error on the Nuvi telling me I need power to use the serial device. So I would guess that the Nuvi knows that the FMI is connected to the unit. I've powered up the OT2m - then followed by the Nuvi. No help. I was hoping to have this completed as a weekend project... I didn't try putting the Nuvi on Com1 because I don't have the Y cable and I dont' have a serial cable that is pinned out to go to Com2. I don't want to turn the OT2m into something I can not communicate with. Thanks for the help 73 Phil / w2lie
