Thanks for the info, and to Lynn. I had wrongly assumed that NMEA would have been lurking in the Garmin protocol. I was just watching the output in a terminal program with AMODE AUTO and it wasn't in Garmin mode. 73 es cul - Keith VE7GDH -- "I may be lost, but I know exactly where I am!"
