I don't see where any electronic items are prohibited, but I will tell you
this. When I flew a year ago, I didn't hear the announcement on the PA
system about taking your laptop out of the bag because the security line was
too short for the announcement tape to loop. Never the less, they pulled me
aside and searched my laptop and bag with a sniffer device. They got very
irate when I tried to set my drink on the table with the laptop they were
asking me to open. It was one of those Cool Hand Luke moments where I had
my dirt in someone's hole and then I had my dirt on someone's ground.

Experience in years past also tells that you should make sure that all
devices are able to be turned on (ie display works or blinky lights come
on). I once travelled with a TNC in an ammo can as a tracker and they
wanted to see the lights on the TNC come on - this really puzzled me because
all the hollywood movies have bombs with blinkey lights - but I digress.

Our TSA does a wonderful job of keeping up a strategy of placebo security
with absolutely no common sense. Political Correctness and security just
don't mix. Anyway, be prepared to lay out all your gear one piece at a time
on the xray belt and demonstrate that it works. Just for fun, ask them if
the 3oz restriction on carry-on fluids includes your bladder. And remember
that the security people are just doing their jobs - zey no notzing.... oh
wait, wrong war. :-)
