I forgot to add if using it inside your house you can also use the 9-volt DC 
adapter that is sold

Unless you are making your own cable, that's the right one to put the 
Nuvi in FMI mode.

Definitely go with the 6-pin mini DIN cable. That way you can leave the 
mic connected making it easy to change over to voice. Also, you won't 
have to worry about setting the volume at the correct level each time 
you use it. A couple of choices would be to get one from RPC Electronics 
www.rpc-electronics.com/trackercables.php, or get a Mini-Din Patch Cable 
from Scott. You would just have to chop the connector off one end and 
solder a DE-9 on the end to go to the T2. If you got a Y cable as well, 
you could bring out both serial ports on the T2 if needed.
