The Alinco DR-135 brings the TNC-type connections (audio/PTT) out
through a DE9 on the back of the unit when there's no internal TNC.
When I install a T2-135 and turn the radio to data mode, the same DE9
connector becomes one of the ports configurable for GPS or KISS or TEXT
or whatever (mine normally connects to a Nuvi 350 for FMI).

With a T2-135 installed and the radio NOT in data mode, does the DE9
revert back to the original signals? In other words, can I connect an
external TNC with a compatible cable for the original DE9 pinout or do I
need to remove the T2-135 and put the DE9's internal cable back into the
radio's circuit board disconnecting the T2-135?

In sort, with the radio not in data mode, does the T2-135 pass the
original signals through to the outside port?

perfectly functioning T2-135!
