Probably only if the manual covered the T2-135 (doubtful) or Alinco's own EJ-41U equivalent. When you install the internal TNC, it removes the normal plug from the radio board to the DE-9 on the back and plugs itself in to the radio there. The original DE-9 cable then plugs into the internal TNC board, so the radio itself doesn't really control what the TNC board does.
