Yes I'll send you a patch as soon as I get in touch with it (I was
sick back these days). I need to catch-up with job-contracted work
but I hope I'll send it during this week. I don't expect to have it
in upcoming 1.5 version but I want to keep the pace with it, so it
can appear in 1.5.something or even 1.6
The only dependency is ruby-gettext gem and, of course, it is
optional. So if not installed, everything will be working in
english. And along with that, a language selector (not implemented
yet) will be disabled.

Cool. I know very little about localization, so I'll defer to you
on this. Do you mind generating a patch based on what you have so
far and sending it along? I'd like to get an idea how it might
integrate with the trunk and the current release plan, and how it
impacts dependencies and installation.
Cheers,
Luke

Actually I've used Globalize plug-in in my major contract, it was
for webs: www.tutor.cz and www.tutor.sk (it is czech and slovak
version). This plugin is pretty dynamic as it stores translations in
database. Thus it handles translations of model data in great way
though you need to provide some interface for managing translations
(kind of simple scaffold). Also, I'm not sure how it solves
pluralization issues in current version (if it does at all).

BTW, Kamil, also curious about your thoughts on the "globalize"
Rails plugin.
Cheers from NYC,
