Hmm, maybe this is a reason... I usually only let my students make 
suggestions. I check them and submit the best suggestion. Because I need 
to go through the file quite a few times and some entries may already be 
translated, I usually go to editing functions - quick translate and 
browse from there. My students may do something similar - within their 
permissions - to find entries I have not yet accepted.

Yesterday I had only seven students and while Pootle became slow (full 
CPU load), it did not die on us this time. I also couldn't discover 
anything strange in the logs. but I will keep an eye on them now and see 
if I can capture something meaningful if this happens again...
