Hi Cynthia!
I hope this may help.

Interconnect: Still under investigation

Safety: IEC-950 based safety standards. Member of the IECEE-CB scheme.

EMC: Not enforced.

The regulatory body is TEC (Technical Evaluation Committee) which is a part of
the local DOT (Dept. of Telecommunication). The process differs for Interface
approval (IA) or Type Approval (TA) and the equipment under question etc. But
if you discuss with them they are generally able to advise you.

The DOT issue their own specifications and again these can be obtained from DOT
in India. These are based on a combination of British or East European
Standards. Our local distributor in India is Global Telesystems, and we have a
good relationship with them and we use them for all approvals.

Me again. I'm just full of questions this week.

What I would like to know is what are the safety
and emissions requirements for India?

What is the certification process and any
other information that would be helpful?

Thanks
