Joe,

India has a two wire circuit with a complex impedance. Three wire
circuits still exist, however. I'm not sure of the plug. The
specifications also speak of a screw termination block.

India is very bureaucratic so you can expect an extended approval process
and there are lots of specifications. They will examine the application
and supporting documentation before they test. The approval holder will
have to be an Indian company.

Specifications are available from the Telecommunicaions Engineering
Center, Khurshidlal Bhawas, Janpath, New Delhi, 110 001. I don't know the
fax or phone numbers, perhaps others can help. It may be easier for your
Indian partner to obtain the appropriate ones and send them to you.
