Hello Stephen: ANSI T1.413-1995 is the domestic ADSL standard. I don't know that Europe or any one else has a standard at this point.

Thanks. " I will not even attempt to describe and compare the various DSL technologies because the following references do the job perfectly. There is an ADSL forum at www.adsl.com Its Web pages include an excellent tutorial introduction to the various DSL technologies. A useful article also appeared in EDN magazine of October 10, 1996, called: "The End of the Wait for Home Internet". This described the various technologies. You can find EDN magazine at www.ednmag.com and can probably download the article. The article will help understand the different DSL technologies and the merits and drawbacks of each, and includes a comparison of the two contending ADSL methods: CAP and DMT. The various chip manufacturers publish information about the technologies and their own boards and chips. Try Motorola (MC145650 ADSL transceiver), Analog Devices, MetaLink, Burr Brown, PairGain, Level One, Orckit, Globe Span, Alcatel, Brooktree, Amati, Aware... A few hours browsing through these manufacturer's Web sites will provide you with a very comprehensive picture of the state-of-the-art in digital subscribers' lines. I should mention that HDSL is specified in ETSI document RTR/TM-0306 (Our copy is version 5, dated June 1996), and in a Bellcore Technical Advisory (our copy is dated October 1991): TA-NWT-001210 "Generic Requirements for High-Bit-Rate Subscriber Lines" (a module of TSGR, FR-NWT-000440). Incidentally, from a quick look at these, it seems to me that HDSL's physical interface is exactly the same as primary rate ISDN. I do not have the titles of ADSL Standards. I am sure that if you follow up the aforementioned references, you will have plenty of information to begin your study of this field. Good luck!
