I'm afraid I must refute the claim that BABT "suggests" any particular
"expensive setup" for the test.  We are, and always have been, careful not to
suggest particular test equipment or methods.  The references in table 3 of BABT
340 to the corresponding tests in the type examination standards are purely for
reference and are qualified by note 1to Table 3 , which clearly states that the
manufacturing test methods are not expected to duplicate the test methods in the
type approval standards.  It would be quite inappropriate for us to stipulate
manufacturing test requirements which, by implication, require the use of
particular types of test equipment.
