Vic, As a fact, following countries accept the _actual_ prTBR21:June 1996 document as alternative national type approval standard:
- Sweden - Denmark - UK We have type approvals based on prTBR21:June 1996 in these countries, which should be sufficient evidence.... The Danish approval is only a temporary approval but will be amended to a "real" type approval once their draft national technical regulation TR 96 080 has been adopted. Unless the technical content of TBR21 is changed (highly unlikely as you know), this is a paperwork procedure. Other countries e.g. Netherlands and Ireland are in the process of introducing their own versions of prTBR21:June 1996, but this is of course a different matter. Half of it was "Clarifications on the Acceptance of TBR21". I've just finished going through that stack and frankly, I've got a pile of rumours and no assurance from anybody in authority that anybody will accept TBR21 as written and accepted in ETSI. I am not convinced that the sharing of rumors to this extent is really helpful. Anyway, only a few more years and Marinus Bogen will have pushed the CTE through and this all becomes academic. In the mean time, may I suggest that we verify via eMail what we think we've heard, with the appropriate officials and send out their official responses. Thank you, Vic Boersma
