Jaen-Marie,

Both Y and delta are widely used in N. America, though delta is becoming
more common (saves on the cost of copper wire :-)

I have attached 2 drawings from the Canadian Electical Code, that show all
the common plug configurations used in Canada. I believe that the same
plugs are used in the U.S. The two drawings are "zipped" into one file.
You'll have to "unzip" them first. Hope you find these useful.

I seem to recall that delta is more common in Japan, but don't have the
info handy. Single phase, 100V plugs are that same as the N. American 120V
plug, but I don't think I've ever seen their 3-phase plugs. I found a site
once, "World Electric Power Guide," that may help you, at:
http://www.cris.com/~kropla/electric.htm

Haven't checked it in a long time, but you may want to give it a try. By
the way, if you do look in there, can you let us know if it's still useful?

Best regards,
Egon
