Is the following correct: BABT had a product safety standard that went beyond what is in the essential requirements of the LVD. In particular, the document had maximum acoustic loudness requirements to protect consumers from overly loud noises from telephones, damaging their inner ear mechanisms. Compliance with such requirements can not be mandated under the LVD, BUT, if you don't comply with those BABT requirements, that fact will somehow be reflected in your approval certificate ? Ciao, Vic NB: There always was a problem between the LVD, which deals with "Electrical Safety" and the standard for ICT equipment, IEC 60 950, which deals with "Product Safety", including all manner of non-electrical things. Compliance with 60 950 indicates much more than just compliance with the essential requirements of the LVD.
