Rich,

It has been my experience that whenever a product name or model number
changed, notices had to be filed so that third party test reports and
such were updated accordingly. This involved only paper handling and
maybe a small charge to effect the change. To recertify because of a
name change is ludicrous only if the product has not otherwise
changed. Also, I have seen in a couple of instances where a simple
letter documenting the name change has been put into the
manufacturer's respective file(s) to note the change in the event that
the file needed to be updated at a later time.

     These views are mine alone.

     Regards,
     Ron Pickard

I am trying to get some clarification regarding re-certification of
products if the model number changes. It is my understanding that if you
change the model number of a product you may have to re-certify it. Does
anybody know of the section which covers this?
