Jim, I believe Randy is stating that the particular category, Communication Service Equipment, uses UL1950 as a test and construction GUIDELINE (as well as UL1459), but not as an absolute requirement. Additionally, Bellcore GR's are considered as well. I also believe there is no standard for that category right now (maybe Randy can confirm). The category description probably specifically states that the equipment is to be used in CO's, and may even state for US CO's only.... (maybe Randy can confirm that as well). Consequently, when one tests to that category, one is not testing to UL1950. One is only being investigated for compliance under the conditions of acceptability for that specific category......
