Doug, It was the famous Hinsdale, Illinois CO fire,(1987, I believe), a legend in fire damage (cost) for the telco industry. It was that fire, along with a couple of fires in NYC earlier, that set the stage for the telco industry to more closely monitor and regulate equipment and equipment setup from a safety and flammability point of view.
