Dear Treggers,

I was forwarded the protective earth question written by Alan Booth,
and this is my reply.

The earthed SELV circuit always has a connection to protective earth,
and, due to the relative short circuit this provides, all the current
present would immediately flow to earth. The test associated with
this clause is the earth continuity test of clause 2.5.11, where the
resistance of the connection between the protective earthing terminal
and parts that are required to be earthed shall not be more than 0.1
ohms.

I hope your misery is now lessened, and you will be able to sleep
again :-)

Best regards
