Treggers, Following on from yesterdays question about galvanic corrosion, Annex J of EN60950 quotes 2 types of aluminium, just Aluminium and Duralumin. Does anyone know which of the BS 1470 Material Designations DURALUMIN is closest to, or does anyone know the exact composition of Duralumin? Metalmarts web page suggests 4%Cu and 0.5%Mg but doesn't state the % of Silicon, Iron, Manganese, Chromium, Nickel, Zinc or Titanium. Duralumin is the trade name of which manufacturer? Is the Aluminium quoted pure Aluminium or an alloy?
