I think if you're going for treo and that's the only plan then look at it
this way that u r saving $100. If the $20 plan works then to get $100 rebate
it does not make sense in giving them total $40 * 24months = $960 for 2yrs
from which they give u $100 back. So get the plan at $860 for 2 yrs.

Something just clicked, try it. Tell them to give u data for 2yrs(contract
period) @ $500/$600. Negotiate and try ur luck.

Hello, J Messeder.

And that is exactly why I went and bought an unlocked 680 directly from
Palm, last December.

I'm in the middle of my contract, it renews in June. To qualify for
any of the Cingular discounts, I'd have had to reup my contract early
(not a big deal to me in and of itself), and get a data plan I don't
need nor want at $39/month. My voice plan is $39/month, so I'd be
doubling my monthly rate for a service I don't actually use that much
(the data service). I use data so infrequently that I spend less on it
paying a la carte than if I had even the cheapest MEdiaNet plan. And,
at the current rates, I'd have to use 5 megabytes per month for it to
be worthwhile to get a data plan at all.

On top of that, the full, unsubsidized price for a Cingular locked 680
from Cingular was $449, the unlocked from Palm was $399, which included
the "Music pack", free shipping, and then on top of that, a trade-up
deal where Market Velocity would buy my old device for $125 bringing my
total cost to $274. (BTW, I just finally got that check yesterday.)

Tips for evil cult members: 3. Avoid needless embarrassment. Practice
the correct pronunciation of your deity's name in private before
chanting it in public. Flash cards are helpful. Be very careful to
pronounce only one syllable at a time; some deities pop up at every
mention of their name, and expect to have an acceptable sacrifice
waiting for them.
