It think it is safe to assume that you can charge it IN the Treo; however, the challenge will be to leave it off for 8 hours without wanting to peek at an email or do something within the required charge period. They are letting you know that you don't want to be using the device while it is charging. But the device can use itself if you have applications like an email ap checking for periodically for messages, you can receive text messages, etc.
I would make sure that all alarms or triggers are disabled during the charge time. If you are familar with backing up the device completely to the memory card. You could do a hard reset and then turn off the phone wireless radio so no calls comes through. Obviously you would want to forward your calls to another line if you can not afford to miss a call. Yeah it is extreme, but doable (maybe). Maybe while you are sleeping. I'll see you on the web! Carl W. The only instructions tell me to charge it for 8 hours before putting it into my phone for the first time. I have never seen any prior mention of a requirement to pre-charge this battery outside the phone, and I have no external battery charger for either this or the OEM Treo 1200 mAh battery. What is going on here and how do I use this battery? Thanks, Dick ----------------------------------------------- Richard E Johnson, ScM, MD, DABA Palm/Treo 680 Mac G4, iBook G3, PowerBook G4 Lawton, OK 73505 USA [EMAIL PROTECTED] Messages in this topic (0) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages | Files | Photos | Links | Database | Polls | Members
