Again, I would ask you to back up your statement about it being "known" that Sprint has horrible CS compared to other carriers or even to other industries. Do you have recent data confirming this? I remember years ago hearing that Sprint had horrible service, but I've not experienced that in the last year I've been a customer. Perhaps they dedicated significant resources to that weakness to where it's not nearly as worse as it used to be? I'm dumping Cingular when my contract is up and will be going with a faster data network. I was all set to go with sprint until the latest flap blew up. Sure, their customer service sucks and is known to be one of the worst in the country, not just among wireless carriers. But needing CS should be a rare thing. I know Sprint's coverage was horrible about 10 years ago but I thought that had been fixed. I know Verizon is more expensive. That's what's been keeping me from going with them.
