I have a 600 & 650 & both have suffered a headset jack that stopped working
as you describe. There are postings on the Internet that describe the same
condition. There is even one article on how to bypass the hardware by
rewiring the jack. VolumeCare professes to have a sofware fix, although it
didn't work for me. Even Palm tech support sort of agreed that my problems
weren't unknown. I have concluded that the the headset jack is a fundamental
weakness of these units.
