Volumecare Bypass didn't work for me either, but Headcold did the
trick on the 600 and on the 700p (after I installed Freedom). I
thought that the earpiece had stopped working but I knew the speaker
was working becuase the phone would still ring. But it wasn't until I
installed Freedom that I realized it was the switching mechanism that
failed.
