My 680 (GSM, of course) gets better reception and transmit quality than
my old 650 (GSM).

Other differences:  More stable, smaller form factor, as much dbcache
as the 650 has main storage, ~3x the main storage, can use SDHC cards
out of the box, brighter screen, keyboard is easier to use, with the SD
slot behind a door and the SIM under the battery, no worries about
either popping out if you do drop it...

On the negative side of the differences is the smaller battery.  If you
are running the 650 to less than 50% charge by the end of the day,
you'll want to get Seidio's 1600mAh battery for the 680.
