Google Maps already has sort of a function like you need. In that program if you tap the menu and then tap "Find Location..." in the Google Maps menu, you'll get the Find Location window. To the right of where you put in the location you're looking for is a drop-down activator gadget. Tap that or select it with the 5-way. A list of recently entered locations will pop up. I assume you can figure out what to do from there. :-)
