Not what I'm looking for.  You know how google does it on their desktop 
 version when you go to local.google.com ?  That's what I'm looking for, 
 only permanent.  So when I pull up, say, Columbus, OH, I see on the map 
 thumbtacks representing places I've already pulled up and thumbtacked 
 there, or maybe I want to compare distances or look at a bunch of locations 
 at once to see the distribution across the city.  An application of this 
 would be to see a group of one's customers in town plotted on the map 
 simultaneously.  The way you suggest is just a way to easily pull up the 
 same thing again.
