Speaking as a guy, which at last check I appeared to qualify, the iPhone's keyboard was almost easier to use than the Treo's. If I make the switch, I'll miss writing on the screen, which is how I get to write short notes without looking, which is cool when one is driving and the eyes are better employed for avoiding beligerent trees. Other'n that, you got it about right.
