Landscape is great when reading text because you can see larger font while fitting the whole line on the screen. The main problem I have is if I'm reading in bed on my side, I really have the pre somewhere between landscape and portrait. There's a nice patch that lets you lock the orientation by sliding out the keyboard, but it only works for the web browser..

It's meant to be mostly a portrait-style phone, so the launcher, keyboard, calendar, and many core apps don't do landscape (they're optimized for portrait viewing anyway). Things that do landscape include YouTube viewer (of course), browser, Email (may need a patch...don't recall), and PDF viewer (with a patch), and there may be some others. Personally, I find landscape rather annoying since I'm used to the portrait format of my Treo/Centro over the years.
