[Treo] Bulk email erase

Is there a way to erase multiple emails on the Pre. I had to put my 
gmail on manual update because, unlike when it came in on the Treo Pro, 
the messages never go away - and if you open one, read it and delete it, 
there seems no way to make it simply go to the next message. But on the 
Pro, I could mark a bunch of messages and delete 'em if I wanted.
