In the spam folder, you still have to tap each email to select them, then hit
the trash can. It asks if you want to delete them all.
For the trash folder, after you tap the trash can, it asks if you want to
delete all (but no need to select each email).

As I think we discussed already, the short answer is no. Longer answer is that
there's a patch that will let you delete ALL emails in given folder but my
understanding (and correct me if I'm wrong) is to mark a bunch for deletion
then hit a 'delete selected' button. Here, first of all, I'd ask you to think
about the work involved. Say you have 8 messages to delete. So you'd
presumably click 8 times to choose them, then a 9th to delete. The way the Pre
works you can simply swipe to delete from you inbox, thus you can do it in 8
actions vs. 9. I understand its not exactly the same, and it would be nice to
have the options, but until there's a patch or enhancement to the mail app, I'm
afraid you're out of luck.. I think Palm could do this easily by letting userd
mark messages by tapping on a messag while holding the orange key down, the
just providing an additional icon in the inbox for multiple deletes...
