Don your message gave me a thought. Not sure if this is what you meant by screenbar, but it would be helpful to have a scrollbar. What is envision is something normally invisible but which you could pull out in a similar way as the launchpad is when you are inside an app - slow drag from right edge of screen inward, then use that same finger (not having lifted it up yet) to scroll horizontally)...

Having had 8 months go get used to the function of the Pre, some of what I would have wanted when switching from the BlackBerry/Treo/Centro of my past has faded a bit. I've adapted to the shortcomings of WebOS (with a little help from patches) and that I guess is a good commentary on the usability of this thing from Day 1. It took other platforms years to do what WebOS did right out of the gate. Of course, the original PalmOS was like that too - instantly usable. The difference is one of extensibility - PalmOS was rather limited. WebOS isn't! So: I would like all of the functions of the patches I currently use, but since those are already available as patches, I will focus my list on other things. Patches that I find useful are: .4x4 icons v3 .Brightness in Device Menu .Call Duration in Call Log .Call History During Call .Enable add/delete pages .Enable landscape email .Enable landscape PDF viewer .Flashlight in device menu .Improved filename format .Mimic Outlook formatting on Email Replies .No auto refresh after idle .Repeat Reminder Notifies .Reset options on power button hold .Reset to first page .Timestamp - builtin .Wrap location field So, those are important to me, but I can live without Palm doing them, since I can get them through Preware. Things I can't get that I would like are: .Fine tune performance everywhere like was done in Photos and Calendar (it's been long enough; time for the lag to GO). .More/better control over alarms, alerts and other sounds. Mimicking the control I had on the Treo would be nice. Doing Profiles like the BB would be better. .Fix problem with the dialer where it mixes people up when called, and in the call log. If I have two people with the same phone number but different extensions, it seems to randomly pick one of them to display, without regard for who I actually called, and it loses the extension information so I can't tell in the Call Log who I actually called! .Editing in place in the calendar grid - text and time. I shouldn't have to open the calendar entry to do that. .Ability to control the brightness when it's turned off but on the Touchstone (darker at night, brighter during the day - user configurable; maybe widgets to add stuff other than the clock and alerts!). .Virtual keyboard for at least landscape (but both would be nice, and two letters per key in portrait (like the BB) would be nice too.) .Navigation controls (global): jump to top; jump to bottom; wide virtual scroll bar that can autohide when not needed. .Global quicktext with emoticons too. .Search calendar. .Voice recorder. I guess that's 10. I might've given a different answer a few months ago. I've gotten so used to this thing that I've forgotten what I used to want and couldn't have. Thanks for asking! Part of my role is to provide feedback to Palm about the device I'm using (a Pre), but I'd like to assemble your suggestions and gripes in a succinct list for them. So, to help me help you, here's what I'd like you to do: * Reply to this thread, putting your reply ON TOP, with a succinct list of up to 10 of your (personally) most needed improvements to webOS and/or the webOS device you're currently using. * Please don't write a long explanation, as I won't be able to pass that on; brief is good. * If you agree with someone else's suggestion, copy and paste that into your list as well; please do not make this a discussion thread (don't reply to someone else's reply) as I won't be able to parse through all that and may miss your important suggestion. I'll send them my compilation (which I'll also post back to this list) over the weekend, so please try to reply by midnight your time Friday.
