I can't say how you would far syncing your Pre with Outlook and Google.
Truth is, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
BUT, I can say that having Google be the center of the triangle --
having it sync with Outlook and with my Treo Pro (that I had before I
switched to Pre) was a problem.
Pretty regularly, I would sync the Treo with Google, then Google
would sync with Outlook -- but if I'd made a change on Outlook, Google
became confused and gave errors that required killing the link to the
Treo, then recreating it and downloading from scratch.
If you could manually control the syncs, it should work. Otherwise ...
