With regard to the discussion a few weeks ago about getting refunds on purchased apps, just by coincidence, I happened to see this on Palm's App Catalog support page today:
<< As stated in the Refunds section of the App Catalog terms and conditions, all sales of successfully downloaded apps are final and nonrefundable. Did you know? You can download an app you deleted without purchasing it again. Just tap the icon in the lower-right corner, find the app, and tap Download to download it again. >> -----Original Message----- From: Levi Wallach Sent: Thursday, March 11, 2010 10:24 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Treo] deleting apps on the Pre, getting refunds I think what happens is Palm keeps a record of your purchased apps so you can just go back to the app catalog and redownload without paying again. As far as refunds, I've not heard of this. I don't think the catalog is set up for it, but who knows maybe it's possible? How much did it cost? Probably $1-3, right? Is it really worth the effort for that much? My guess is that with the transaction fees incurred, getting a refund for a $1 item would probably cause Palm (or the app creator) to LOSE money, if not even at the $3. I understand it's the principal of the thing, and maybe you can get a refund by calling Palm? Just doesn't seem worth the time to spend 20 or so minutes on the phone dealing with it for all of $1 in savings - ie time is money as they say. This is probably what they are counting on people to think and thus it provides less motivation for app developers to deal with problems, but then one can also write bad reviews of an app and with enough of these the app developer won't sell much of anything. It's just that the first brave souls to buy it sight unseen will have to be the gunea pigs. At least some vendors are nice enough to create light or trial versions, but they are by far in the minority... -------------------------- On Thu, Mar 11, 2010 at 12:13 PM, George Kontos wrote: > - Is there a way to get a refund on an app you don't like?
