I close mine. Opening them doesn't take much time, and is about as
convenient as flicking through to get the one I want, which probably
would be at the other end of the row. If the ros would rollover -- a
right-gesture would go from #6 to #1, for instance, I might reconsider.
I use, in more or less order of frequency, Contacts, Calendar,
Email, Evernote, SMS. Contacts is most likely to remain open for long
periods when I'm sitting somewhere making calls. Likewise Evernote when
I have repeated use for it.
Otherwise, I close 'em as I finish needing 'em.
