I would agree with Patrick, there is no point jumping to another OS if the new OS doesn't do enough of what you want as yet. Better off getting a palm pro or Palm classic phone if there are problems with the current phone.
For now the pre doesn't do enough of what i like on the tre680 that I have. Yes it may die but i fully backup with NVBackup and can buy a replacement off ebay if i must replace it quickly. Yes it wont be as quick as going to a physical shop but quick enough for me. Better to wait and see if anything comes up which suits me better than buy something that is lesser of a device than the Treo 680. Peoples requirements do vary quite a bit.
