I cannot speak to the multitasking abilities of WebOS, nor the EVO, however I recently migrated from a Treo 755p to an HTC Incredible. The Evo and the Incredible are the top-of-the line HTC Android units and are similar. I am extremely happy with my Incredible, and do not anticipate moving back to WebOS from Android in the foreseeable future.
