Are you running a kernel with module support or with compiled in
drivers? 

Are you asking how to edit the file?
vi /etc/modules or ae /etc/modules

Where to get the file because you don't have one at all?
make a list in a file with one module name per line.
except on the 3c509 line make it look like the one below.
