Did you tried the free driver yet? Which part was wrong? Of course, you have the freedom of install the privative NVIDIA driver. Legally, except some very important human rights (and unluckily there are cases when it's not true), we have the freedom of loosing any of our own freedoms. You can do that in those aspects that you consider, of course, and nobody has the moral right to judge you (except you). However, we, and probably you that supports software freedom, want not to recommend anyone to loose their freedom. Nobody wants others loose their freedoms. So, it doesn't matter the software that some one use, no matter who, the important thing is that every one, as a community, cannot recommend or help people to loose their freedoms. We have to only teach the correct way, although it is not easy in some places yet. Kind regards
